The people that do stuff: Rule Breakers. They lay naked in beds & public photographs. They write killer books. They f*ck up & then fix themselves, time & time again.
These paintings feel like them, rather than look like them. The image itself is exciting & unquantifiable; the magnitude of who they were & what they did can’t fit into the bounds of realism. Like color & form building on itself, bleeding on itself, & mixing together, these folks lived poignantly & passionately with depth & dimension like the visual language I explored in each painting.
