 Triers

The people who are given a little, but still get up: Triers.

Both good & bad people try. Whether it’s the boy scout who touched my hand & made me feel wonderful in my First Flirt, or the Greek God’s who are revered when in all reality they cursed, raped, & turned people into trees (you know the gist) like in Greek Myth, there’s all kinds of & complications to trying. Romeo & Juliet were the ultimate tryers of love. Fashion Statement & Petting My Boo explore the trying qualities of gun ownership in America, often full of hypocrisies in relation to class & violence. Mai Farrow is like a determined, little fish, with an admirable fragility. Karenish tried to flail her arms & overturn her glass filling the space with nasty, green flecks, but still didn’t receive what she wanted. Each of these pieces speculate on the complexity of trying (& often failing) with a textural zeal & layered intricacy.
